LinkedIn makes it VERY hard to grow your email list. Meanwhile, this new platform is doing the opposite:

They're making it *extremely* easy.

The platform I'm talking about?

Substack.

They just raised $100M in funding to keep ramping growth.

And a bunch of big players in the space (like Justin Welsh, Dan Koe, & Gary Vee) are going ALL IN on it.

Now, here's what makes Substack even more interesting:

Instead of punishing you for sharing links to your newsletter, Substack natively adds a "subcribe" button to every single post you make.

Which means:

People can subscribe to your newsletter directly from the Substack feed without clicking on any links or going to a landing page.

And just to share some "proof"...

In the past 90 days, I've gotten 895 newsletter subscribers from Substack.

And all I'm doing is this:

Repurposing my best LinkedIn posts as Substack Notes (think: short-form text posts or Tweets).

So to help you capitalize on this, I've created a full guide called the Substack Arbitrage Playbook.

It includes:

• The 3-step setup process to get started
• 50 high-performing Substack Note examples
• 50 ready-to-use templates you can copy/paste
• 1 AI prompt to create new Substack Notes with ease
• 1 AI prompt to turn your best LI posts into Substack Notes

Just comment "stack" & I'll gladly send you a free copy :)

PS - And in case you're wondering...

No, you don't need to migrate your entire newsletter if you're already using another email platform... that's the best part!

I publish 23 pieces of content every week:

• 1 lead magnet
• 7 LinkedIn posts
• 12 Substack Notes
• 3 email newsletters

Now, one of the biggest reasons I’m able to produce so much content is because of my Content Growth Operator (CGO).

We’ve been working together for the past year and it’s been awesome.

When we started, he was primarily helping me with LinkedIn stuff.

But as my email list grew and we built out our LinkedIn systems, he also started to take on more work on the email front.

Here are 4 things he helps with each week on the newsletter/email front (saving me 5+ hours/week):

Task 1: Draft templated emails

He helps me draft 2 types of emails:

• Weekly roundup emails - These have a very clear and repeatable format. He drafts them using our templates and AI prompts. Then I QC and edit before we publish.

• Welcome/delivery emails for new lead magnets - Every week we publish a new lead magnet, and we always set up a delivery email so people can get access to the asset. He drafts all of these using our templates and prompts as well.

Task 2: Upload/schedule emails for the week

I use ConvertKit for most of our emails.

We generally batch create everything on Sunday, and he uploads them on Monday.

We also have a paid newsletter on Substack that we send on Fridays. I write those emails entirely by myself, but he helps me upload them to Substack.

Task 3: Do research & draft lead magnets

We have a series of prompts to brainstorm new lead magnet ideas, so each week he ideates new potential assets we could create.

Once I’ve decided on the idea we want to sprint on, he helps me:

• Curate resources
• Draft some of the content using existing material (if we have it)
• Do research that I can then use to create the final content

Task 4: Build landing pages & automations for lead magnets

Lastly, my CGO also helps me build landing pages and automation flows in ConvertKit.

We use these flows to capture email subscribers from our lead magnets and deliver the assets via email after someone subscribes.

And that’s it... at least on the email front!

But tbh, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I put together a full guide breaking down all the different things my CGO helps me with (including how he helps me streamline and execute my LinkedIn content workflows).

7 steps to launch a newsletter with 7-figure potential (before 2025 ends):

• Get clarity over your biz model
• Create a differentiated value prop
• Choose your newsletter tool/platform
• Design your newsletter growth strategy
• Build your first automated email sequence
• Decide your newsletter publishing cadence
• Come up with a memorable newsletter name

How do I know this is *the* way?

Because over the past few years, we've used this playbook to grow 3 different businesses to:

$400,000/year
$1,5000,000/year
And $6,000,000/year

And our newsletter has been at the heart of all of them.

So to help you do the same, I put together a full crash course covering all of this... and more:

The Conversion Newsletter Blueprint: 7 Steps To Build A Newsletter With 7-Figure Potential

Now, full transparency: I am planning on turning this into a paid product later this year…

But for now, I want to share it for free to help more people start a money-making newsletter before the year ends.

So if you want a copy, just comment ā€œblueprintā€ & I’ll send a free copy.

Greg Isenberg’s lead magnet strategy is GENIUS & most people are sleeping on it. Here's how it works (so you can steal it):

Most creators use the same generic lead magnet for every piece of content they publish.

Greg does the opposite.

If you go to Greg’s YouTube channel and start paying attention to the CTAs he uses in his video descriptions, you’ll notice something very interesting:

Most of his lead magnets are extremely relevant to the topic of the video.

For example, he recently published a video breaking down Dan Koe's content creation system.

And guess what the CTA is?

A guide on how to replicate Dan’s AI content engine for yourself.

And no, this isn’t an isolated thing - it’s exactly what he does with most of his videos.

Now, this might not sound like a big deal but it kinda is.

Because by maximizing the level of congruence between your content and the lead magnet you promote at the end of your content, you can also maximize:

• The number of people who click on the CTA in the first place
• The number of people who actually opt-in
• And ultimately your email list growth

You’re getting more subscribers and more juice out of every piece of content you create.

Now, I know what you’re thinking…

ā€œDaniel, this makes sense but this sounds like a lot of work!ā€

And that’s a fair concern.

But I’m sure that at this point, Greg & his team have:

• Found ways to streamline this with AI
• Created templates they can plug and play
• And built a whole system around this strategy

If I had a YouTube channel or a podcast, I would definitely be doing this for myself.

Now, you can do something very similar for LinkedIn as well.

When I can, I try to plug a CTA for a lead magnet that’s as relevant as possible to the topic of the post.

But I normally use existing lead magnets rather than creating a dedicated lead magnet for each piece of content.

I think that’s okay because Greg’s strategy makes more sense when you’re creating evergreen long-form content that takes a lot of effort - like a YouTube video or a podcast episode.

It might not make sense for a one-off LinkedIn post.

That said, I’m actually interested in testing this more intentionally for my own content.

And if I do, I’ll share what I learn.

Hope this is helpful!

PS - I put together a prompt to help me brainstorm hyper relevant lead magnets for specific pieces of content.

The easiest way to improve your newsletter performance (without changing anything about your content):

Purge your email list once per quarter.

Here's how:

1/ Create a segment with all your cold subscribers.

2/ Write a ā€œre-engagementā€ sequence (3-4 short emails).

3/ Build an email automation to deliver the emails (like the one in the screenshot).

4/ Upload your sequence to the automation.

5/ Add all your cold email subs to the automation & wait until the sequence ends.

6/ Remove anyone who doesn’t engage with that sequence from your list.

By running this process every few months, you can easily boost your open rates by 5-10%.

Also, since you’re shrinking your list, your software bill might go down too.

The best part?

After bootstrapping this process the first time, you can automate it.

That way, this continues to happen on autopilot—and without you having to think about it.

Easy money.

PS - Want some help implementing this?

I created a step-by-step guide walking you through the entire process.

I even included all my email & automation templates so you can get it all set it up in 30 mins.

Just comment "purge" and I'll send you a free copy.

I used to struggle to come up with content ideas.

But this journaling prompt made it 10x easier:

ā€œWhat’s one thing I…

• Noticed
• Learned
• Or worked on yesterday…

That I could write about today?ā€

Here’s why I’ve found it so helpful:

There’s dozens of valuable stories, insights, and learnings in our day to day lives.

The problem is…

We either forget them - or we take them for granted.

This is especially true when you create content about a niche or topic you are an expert in.

But adding this prompt to my morning journaling practice has helped me:

• Uncover
• Capture
• And turn into content

Dozens of insights & experiences I would have normally overlooked.

So whether you're struggling to come up with LinkedIn content ideas or new angles for your emails, I highly recommend giving it a try.

There's one newsletter format that has consistently brought me 4 & 5 figure clients (without pitching my services):

I call it The Niche Expert Breakdown.

Let me walk you through it.

But first - how do I know this framework works?

Because this is the exact type of newsletter I’ve used to land multiple $10,000 clients - despite…

• Having a small email list at the time
• NOT promoting my services in my emails
• And NOT sending new emails consistently

(I started using this format WAY before I built a LinkedIn audience.)

Now, let's break down the framework:

First, the goal of this type of newsletter is to make it so extremely obvious that you know your sh*t…

That people can’t help but reach out and ask how they can work with you.

How do you do that?

Simple:

First, you choose an asset you normally create for your clients.

For me, it’s lead magnet funnels.

But it can be anything.

For example, if you…

• Design, it can be an interface
• Write copy, it can be a sales page
• Create thumbnails, it can be a thumbnail

Then, you start looking for examples of that asset in the public domain.

(Ideally from people or companies you’d like to work with.)

Lastly, you write weekly emails featuring the examples you find & breaking down:

• The things they’re doing well
• And the things they could improve

Here’s the most important part, though:

You also want to explain *why* the things they’re doing well are good…

And *why* the things they could improve are not optimal.

That’s how you *demonstrate* that you actually know what you’re taking about.

Now, there’s another nice benefit to following this approach:

After deciding what type of ā€œassetā€ you’re going to audit & break down each week, you don’t have to *think* about your ā€œnewsletter formatā€ anymore.

Because you are giving yourself a series of constraints from the beginning.

And by doing that, you make it 10x easier for yourself to write money-making emails consistently.

And that's it!

Hope it's helpful.

After building 100+ lead magnet landing pages, I've found 7 fundamental rules for maximum opt-in rates:

RULE 1: The Rule of 1

There's only ONE thing you can do on my landing pages:

Opt-in or bounce.

There's no navigation bars, blog archives, social media buttons... NADA.

All of these are distractions.

And distractions = lower opt-in rates.

So if you want to increase your opt-in rates, the first thing you should do is follow The Rule of 1—just one CTA.

RULE 2: Transformation-Driven Headline

If you're reading this, you've probably heard the famous Ogilvy quote before:

ā€œOn the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.ā€

Now, even though he said that decades ago (and in the context of paid advertising), this is still true.

And it also applies to lead magnet landing pages.

But, how do you write a great landing page headline?

There's dozens of small nuances—but none of them matter if your headline doesn't promise a tangible & compelling outcome (or transformation).

So, keep that in mind next time you're writing a landing page.

RULE 3: Objection Busting

Now, sometimes making a good promise isn't enough.

People have doubts.

So, if you want maximize your opt-in rates, make sure to always include an Objection Busting sentence to the end of your headlines.

Pro tip: Use smaller font size & italicize your Objection Busting sentence so your "main" headline doesn't get too bulky.

RULE 4: Mockup image

One of your main goals when creating a landing page like this?

To make your lead magnet feel *tangible.*

Even make it feel like a product.

That's why all of my landing pages always have a high-quality mockup image.

Obviously, you can whip up your own mockup images using a tool like Canva.

But if you can hire a designer to help you create one, that's even better.

(It's worth every penny!)

RULE 5: Compelling Lead Magnet Name

Another way to make your lead magnets feel more tangible?

Name them something!

One of my favorite frameworks for this is Hormozi's MAGIC formula.

RULE 6: Tangible Social Proof

As we all know, social proof is extremely powerful.

Now, when you have limited real estate, one of my favorite ways to add social proof is to add a short blurb with *tangible* social proof.

(Instead of adding a "quote testimonial.")

See the image below for an example of this!

RULE 7: Opt-In Form Above The Fold

Lastly, you want to make it as easy as possible for people to opt-in for your lead magnet.

And easy means NO scrolling.

That's why your opt-in box should always be "above the fold."

We're ONLY 30 days away from Black Friday.

But here's the good news (for marketers):

You're still on time to have a lucrative Black Friday launch.

And I've put together something to help you make that happen.

See, last year we generated $600,000+ in revenue with our Black Friday product launch.

(It was our most successful product launch to date!)

And 90% of this revenue came from -- you guessed it -- email.

So I wrote up a 1,500-word guide breaking down our entire Black Friday email playbook to help YOU replicate it.

It covers:

• Our pre-launch warm-up emails
• Our countdown sequence strategy
• How we structured our launch emails
• How we used objection handling emails to maximize revenue
• And a simple framework to help you choose which tactics to try (based on your level of experience)

Wanna check it out?

Comment "bf" & I'll send you a free copy.

PS - In case you're wondering...

We used this playbook to launch a $350 course.

But you can use most of these tactics to launch almost any kind of infoproduct (e.g. courses, memberships, group coaching, SaaS, etc.)

PPS - Also, you can use these tactics any time -- it doesn't have to be during Black Friday.

So if you're not doing any Black Friday stuff, this playbook could still help you with your next launch (whenever it happens).
The little-known lead magnet strategy that got us 2,100+ comments and 500+ email subscribers in 72 hours:

A few weeks ago, my friend Matthew Brown and I decided to run an experiment.

We launched a LinkedIn lead magnet together.

The goal was to see if we could:

• Maximize the number of email subscribers we got from a lead magnet
• While minimizing the effort and work we had to do to create it

And considering we drove 500+ subscribers in just a few days, I think this was a pretty successful experiment.

So let me break down what we did so you can do the same:

Step 1: Find someone to collab with

I’d been thinking about this idea for a while, so I texted Matthew about it. We’re friends and both execute the LinkedIn lead magnet strategy regularly.

For you: Find someone at your level (or higher) who’s also creating content and building their audience on LinkedIn. Pitch them on the idea.

Step 2: Come up with your gameplan

Once they say yes, make these key decisions upfront:

• What asset will you create? (Find alignment between your content niches)
• How do you divide the work? (Who creates what, who builds the landing page)
• Who handles delivery? (DMing people the download link)

Step 3: Divide and conquer the build

This took us about 4-5 days total.

Here’s how we split it:

• Matthew outlined the asset using existing content from both of us
• I finalized it with his resources + my frameworks
• Matthew gave feedback, we iterated
• I created the landing page

Step 4: Divide and conquer the launch

The goal here is to add distribution without duplicating effort:

• I posted on LinkedIn promoting the asset
• Matthew emailed his list driving traffic to my post
• Matthew helped workshop the post angle

This maximized visibility → more sign-ups.

Step 5: Grow your list

My team and I sent DMs to everyone who engaged with the post.

Subscribers initially went to my list (landing page was on my ESP). A few days later, I shared a CSV with Matthew so he could import them into his list.

The results:

• 500+ new email subscribers in 3 days
• 60,000+ views on the post
• 2,100+ comments

This wasn’t our best performing lead magnet ever, but it was top 80th percentile performance while taking LESS time and effort because of the collaboration.

If you want help brainstorming viral-worthy lead magnet ideas for your own collab, I put together a new prompt specific use case.

Comment ā€œideaā€ below and I’ll send it over.
